ReplyDeleteI believe this quote is true. “Dream by awake” is basically a synonym to “imagination”. Most writers get their stories by daydreaming, which imagination comes to this.
Of the stories I’ve read seemed to have come from the writer’s imagination. Wings Of Fire is based around dragons, and since they aren’t real, you’d need a lot of imagination to think of what each one does. Another book, Eragon, is also based around dragons. Once again, imagination is used. The writers would have to had thought for a long time to be able to think of all the wonders these dragons could do. Be it from powers to weaknesses, speech to homes, ect.
Writers also have to use their imagination for settings, mythical places or normal everyday places, such as a mall. A writer has to picture these places in their heads. Some even draw out the place so they can get a clear view. Every story has a setting, so imagination is used.
Myths/Legends can 110% be approved as imagination. Myths and legends need something intense to happen, be it man saves girl, they fall in love, they get married, ect, to even a mythical being, such as a god or such, getting powers to stop evil forces. Some writers daydream while making these, which leads to the details of a story.
As for beginner writers such as myself, I usually listen to music to get scenes. Music with lyrics or just instruments or vocal can help make a scene come into place. Whenever I listen to music, I imagine an OC (Original Character) of mine in a scene fitting to the song. An opening, for example, if starting off with a legend, it should have “epic” music. Music that leads to a Climax in the legend, like a battle. A sad scene would usually be created with a sad song, such as calming, emotional music. A death, for example, should have sad, emotional music, not jazz or death metal. An intense scene, like a rebellion, should have extreme music. Metal would work well for this, but it’s my personal opinion.

DeleteYes I think the quote “as a writer you ask yourself to dream while awake” is true. I think that because if you ask yourself to dream while you’re awake you can dream about what you can write. A better way to explain dreaming while awake is day dreaming. It also helps you relax and stop worrying if you can't think of anything to write. And if you dream while you’re awake you know every detail from your dream. It will help you become a better writer and become more detailed. Also you won't be worried about the story so you can make the story more detailed and add characters. And if you have a story from your dream you will think of details and you will improve over time and maybe you will become and author. But the only way you will have any shot at being an author is you need to work hard,be detailed,use transition words etc. And also if you improve your writing you will breeze through writing in school and will get good grades. You could become an author with the best selling books if you follow those steps in your writing. That is why I agree with the quote “as a writer you ask yourself to dream while awake.

DeleteTrue i believe what this quote means is that what you dream is to help the writer, help the reader really understand what he is truly reading about.
“As A Writer You Ask Yourself To Dream Wall Awake” I do believe it's true. Cause when you're writing depending on what you write, You don't use facts when you write. You use your imagination, You use the stuff you think about in stories. And when you dream whether it be a good dream or a bad dream. It's still a dream, and dreams are usually pretty interesting. So when they say that i do believe it's true, Dreams have not only helped right books but they have helped scientists with their work. People have had dreams where they wake up and start creating inventions that help us in our everyday life nowadays. Dreaming can really help people with writing you have a creative enough dream then you can have a really good book or even a book series. Dreaming can become your best writing source if you know how to use them right. Or even just remeber them. We all dream, we all have wild dreams and boring dreams. And when you have wild dreams they can become an amazing adventure watched through words. Dreaming is a very powerful thing in the end. Because if you think about it when you dream you drea wildly with really no consequences or boundaries you could really do whatever you wanted, but it's weird because sometimes you will talk in your sleep or walk in your sleep or do something in your sleep. So dreaming can be the best reference sheet for a writer when they're not trying to write something that has facts in it.
ReplyDeleteI agree with James but I also think it means,when you daydream you use what you dreamed about in you're writing. BUt it can mean a lot of different things.And James used a good reason. He used sort of the same thing but he says you can use past dreams to help you with you're writing.

I think that this quote is telling writers to be more creative. To grab more readers attention to not just write something boring to be eventful.
ReplyDeleteNot every story will have a happy ending, the perfect setting, a true love, or even an amazing back story. But i can tell you this, every story has a meaning behind every word that is written, the author has an idea about all the different conclusions you will come to, and the author has a dream. A dream about writing everything down into a story that is being told by one person. They could care less if a million people hated it and one person loved it because they are doing what makes them happy. The quote “As a writer you must ask yourself to dream while you’re awake.” has a lot of meaning behind it. It is saying that in order to write a good meaningful story you must be able to dream during the day to be able to get everything in exact detail. It means to dream about anything and write it in your own way and adding your own style to it. Being a writer isn't all fun and games, specially when you have to write about life, war, and everything else that is deep in life but also has great meaning, whether it be bad or good. A lot of stories are about life now and days. In order to be able to bream while you are awake you have to be creative. Creativity is a must have in writing, but being creative doesn't mean that you have to think of something when it isn't happening, being creative means you have to be able to think outside the box. Outside the box of earth and reality, take scenarios where things that you would never imagine would happen, they happen. All writers have something in common, their love for writing and their dreams becoming a reality.

ReplyDeleteI think the quote means when your writing try to picture your story coming alive and trying to make it more creative,when you picture it in your mind.When you want to write a story you want to make it as creative as possible.If your story is very creative people that read it will start picturing it in their minds.This quote can help us write in school or anywhere by thinking about what your gonna write and making come alive so people can picture the story in their head while they are reading it.

I think the quote is trying to say that while writing you have discovering things in life so that you’re aware of what’s going on around your surroundings. When you're awaken theirs more things you will be able to talk about because you can observe so much of what’s going on in life. You will make your readers want to buy your books or whatever the case is. But if you just write and you aren’t aware of what’s going on in life eventually you will run out of things to talk about. And to me when you have stories to talk about what’s happening in the real world it’s so much better because then people could really relate and understand what your taking about.

Your creativity must show in colors when you’re writing, and you have to keep a constant flow of what you are writing about. She aims to point out that writing is not an easy task, and dreaming can be related to writing. Dreams are supported by imagination, and are often showing resemblance to real life events that are tweaked or real people in odd situations. By applying a dream to your writing can allow creativity to thrive within the story or book you’re making. Certain dreams can be directed towards certain groups or people, and by applying a dream towards what you’re thinking and writing can help greatly without you stopping your writing rhythm.
ReplyDeleteThe quote "As a writer you ask yourself to dream awake." means to picture what you are writing so you can use good words that really describe what you are writing about to make the reader feel like he is there.I think this a true explaination because every story has a setting so if you use good describing words the reader will really know where the story is takeing place.Using better words to explain the story also makes the story more intresting and make the reader want to read more or the story.

DeleteI think the quote means that inspiration outside of the normal “box” is key to one of the best writers in reaching their goal of one of the best books ever written.and this can also mean there is no limit on the imagination of writing any and every idea can be a good one. Your imagination can take you to great extents. It can help. You in other areas of education dreaming and writing about things gives clarity on the most fantastic things. It can open someone's eyes to the wonderful world of writing into a burt of the greatest imagination.

But this quote to me means that you have to have a imagination like your dreaming. More creative ideas come out of dreams. You have to dream to because a writer and let your creativity come out. Dreams put the best images and ideas in your head. These dreams will make you have the best ideas for writing and your work will be better. You have all these dreams locked in your head and that is where some of the best writers get their ideas from. They wake up and write their dreams in a book and see where that takes them. Dreams aren't just for writers. It could be a topic for a love song or a rap. Dreams are everything of what they want. If we didn't have dreams we wouldn't know what to look forward to or to strive to get. It could be movie ideas too. Writers are literally used in everything and if you don't have creative ideas than it won't really be that good. And dreams give the most crazy creative ideas for anything. Dream keep us looking forward to something.
