  1. Honestly, to me this Quote written by, the famous Dr. Suess reminds me of how when i am sitting down in my chair in class and i will debate on whether i should ask the question i am about to ask. So when i read this quote the other day i realized that when i say something, it may not matter to you but it does matter to me or someone else for that matter. What i am trying to say is if i am speaking of what i believe in, you should at least listen to what i am trying to say or express in my own personal words thoughts or ideas! People should have "Respect" for their friends, family, authority and teachers because that is the right thing to do. What i believe Dr.Suess meant by this quote is that if you have something to say, say it because what you are saying may benefit others and it could matter to them what you said or are saying could be important. So stick up for what you are saying and believe in, and make sure to always have the respect that the other person had for you when you were talking, be polite and have an open mind! You Must be Open mindestens to The Things that do matter.

    1. Yo, Julien I remember when we were in the same math class in 6th grade. We were both scared to raise our hand and ask a question because Mrs. Maione was really mean. Most importantly, over the years we have had nicer teachers and we are more brave to raise our hands. Goodbye:)

  2. To me the quote from Dr Suess means that you can be whatever you want and say what you want and you can’t get judge for that. For example John Smith can come out of the closet and say he is by.He is expressing something he wants to. The people that matter to him, family members, won’t care unless he isn’t happy. Really big jerks, however, would mind so they won’t care. Say you want to ask someone to go to the dance with you. If you start to get made fun of they don’t matter at all. If someone in your family says they love you, you matter to them. THen they start to care. My friend was shy to tell someone that they are a weird. He was though. He would talk to people in a high pitch voice, invite himself over to mine or my friends house, and stalked him. It took me about two seconds to tell him to leave us alone and go away yet, that never worked.

Everyone that i meet over the summer believed that i was by. Everyone thought that and affected me in the inside. I was about to tell my parents when i remembered that it is my life not theirs. It didn't mine me to the point that I was offended it was a limp on my back. When my brother heard about it, he was starting to bully me. I had to go through the whole summer and work with those comments.

    1. I think that your meaning to the quote was very excellent. I thought that it was great because you included other people's problems in your meaning. Also I am sorry for thinking that you were by. People shouldn't thought of that because they didn't know you very well. Also is is horrible that your brother had bully you for people thinking that of you

  3. Hi, this is Walter Maldonado replying to his blog question. The quote “Be who you are and say what you feel because those who matter don’t mind and those you mind don’t matter” by the famous Dr. Suess has a lot of meaning to it. When I read this quote I can relate it to a majority of things, but different people think of this quote different ways. I think this quote means that if you be yourself and say what’s on your mind you can figure out who are, and you aren’t your real friends. Your real friends are the ones that don’t mind what is on your mind but the ones that do mind are your fake friends. One time my closest friend has done terrible things in the past and he wanted to change his ways. It was all in a group chat because he was too emotional to tell us in person. He had said, “Guys, I want to change my ways and start doing good in school, and sports.” Most of the kids didn’t agree with him doing that, so they stopped being friends with him, but i was the only one who stood by his side and helped him out.

    2. You hit the nail right on the head for the quote. The way your friend wanted to change is great for an example. You wanting to help is a great way to help too.

  4. I think that this quote means that you shouldn't hold back what you want to say. That you don’t need to care what other people need to say. You can be yourself and act the way you want to because the people that are close to you wouldn't mind or care what you do. The people that don’t know you would think that what you do is important to their lives than they would just forget what happen. In my life i didn’t act like myself for most of school. Most my change in my behavior is when after I moved into my new house. I didn’t act like myself because i didn’t want everyone to think that I was some weird new kid. So instead of being a loud troubling kid i became the lonely shy kid that sits in the back of the room. The one time I did do something that anyone wasn’t use to i was called the weirdest kid in school. After that happened I didn't want to talk any more. Another time when I saw this happen to another person that related to this quote is when he was made fun of because he always did random things in class. So I think that this quote means to act like yourself and don't let the people around you down or sad.

  5. Dr. Seuss once said "Be who you are and say what you feel because those who matter don't mind and those who mind don't matter". This quote means that no matter what people say to us we have our own life to live and don't let the haters ever bring you down. Also, people are very judgemental even if it's the life that you live. They don't I dare stand that you shouldn't judge someone until you have been in their shoes. Sometimes people don't care about your life problems or your decisions that you have or have to make. "Never judge a book by its cover". This quote can relate to Dr. Seuss because people like to judge no matter what happens. This quote relates to many things in anyone's life and how they are either bullied or made fun of because of the things they like or the clothes you wear. Personally I think that no one should be picked on for the clothes they wear or the things they like or who they like. I think people should accept them for who they are and become a friendly and have a friendship with those who are less fortunate then you.

  6. Dr.Seuss once said "Be who you are and say what you feel because those who matter don't mind and those who mind don't matter" to me this has a lot of meaning in the few words. To me this that as a person you should always be yourself no matter who's around you. don't try to be cool just because the “cool” kids are around.whenever someone criticizes me for something i said then they are not worth talking to. I believe that it means exactly what it says when he said “say what you feel.”
also it means that if people are going to criticize you and not accept you for who you are than they are not worth talking to. If people listen to what you say and respect your opinions than you should hang out with them. those are the people “who matter”. if people really do listen to what you have to say than you should keep them as friends because those are the people who are nice and are worth it. it is very important to say what you feel because it is a way of expressing yourself and expressing yourself is very important. that is what i think about Dr. Seuss' meaningful quote.

    1. James, I think this is a great response to this quote because your absolutely right. You shouldn't waste your time talking to people who don't care and criticizes you on your every move. Focus on people that care and it is really important to say what you feel.

    2. James, you're response was horrible! You did not do anything right you really need to work on this! Wait i am saying something that does not matter because this is your opinion. But I'm just kidding great response you answered it to the point. So great job for that!

  7. Dr. Suess once said "Be who you are and say what you feel because those who matter don't mind and those who mind don't matter" What Dr. Suess’s quote means to me is that you can be anything you want to be and you can be yourself without anyone judging you. You can say what you feel to the people that care about you and they don't mind you talking to you about it. They love you talking to them so they don't mind. The people that mind don't matter be see they really don't care. They pretend they care so you shut up. Those are the people that don't matter in your life. Say what you feel and don't care about what people say about you.

    1. I agree with what you wrote. People that care about you do care what you say and listen. The people who don't care are fake people. You don't need these people. Only the ones who care.

  8. what i interpret from this quote is that he believes that you should always be yourself no matter what and don't care or pay attention to what anyone says if it's not a positive comment on how you are or what you do. what i get from him saying that “those who matter don't mind and those who mind dont matter” is that if someone can't accept you for who you are shouldn't be a necessity in your life because they should like you for who you are and if they don't like you they don't have to be round you and the people who. This quote can relate to my life in many ways because i'm a young student and as a young student there is always problems with bullies and just people in general who pick on and make fun of kids because of what they do and who they are like i used to dance a long time ago and people used to make fun of me all the time but i kept doing what i was doing and i got better i learned not to listen to what people say and do what i want an the only opinion that matters is my own . this is a very good qu

  9. What I interpret from the quote is that the people who care about you don't mind if you love playing video games or like to play sports. They will care for no matter what you like or do even if they don't agree. You shouldn't care what other people think. You have to do what is right for you. This quote relates to my life in a couple ways. One example is that when I was in grade school there was one kid everyone wanted to impress. They he thought he was the coolest kid and they would do anything to please him. For the first few years I was part of that group until I started to get in trouble. I found it that it was better to be yourself and do things that you think is right not others. Today him and I aren't friends, but I do have true friends that I don't have to prove myself to.

  10. When Dr. Seuss said the famous words: "Be who you are and say what you feel because those who matter don't mind and those who mind don't matter" I think he meant that If your friends are really your friends then they will not care what you like or why you like it. They will simply accept you because they care about you. For example, when you say to your friend that you want to go see an old “chick flick” instead of the new horror movie, they should accept you instead of just laughing at you for what you like. If your friend was really your friend then they could suggest a movie that both of you like. They could also go see the horror movie while you go see the other one. Lastly, they could suffer through the movie that you like and then go see the movie that they wanted to see at a different time. Just last month, I went with my cousins and a bunch of friends to New York City. My cousins and me wanted to go and see a Broadway play and then go shopping. All of our friends wanted to just go out to lunch and then go shopping and skip the play altogether. In the end we winded up going to eat then, then we went and saw Mama Mia, then we went shopping all around Times Square. So, I completely agree with Dr. Seuss because I want to surround myself with people who matter.
