I say what this man said is true because, when you are doing anything in life you have an obligation. That obligation is to do all the things that you want, or desire, or love in life! Like a job if you really wanted this job and you had mixed thoughts about starting this new job, you are thinking should i just do it or no? Well what Mr. Wayne means by what he is saying is that you should always conduct you're mind to do what you have always wanted to do. He makes it seem like we are playing basketball and you have not made a shot, no what he is implying is that he wants people to understand that in life you need to make tough decisions and if you have something good or exciting right there in front of you, you need to take that opportunity no matter what anyone says about it! If you think that this is your shot then take it! You need to meet and go and explore and do new things so you become a better and greater person. You will be more wise and have more knowledge. You will be able to help out friends and family with more things because you took more chances and shots so you can give out better ideas and work ethics! To try your hardest at what you do and just blow it away and quit what you are good at is a waste of talent use that talent and become a better person make better decisions for you're good!

  3. the quote you miss 100% of the shots you don't take means a lot to me for a lot of reasons. the first reason is probably one of my favorite ones if not my favorite one. the reason is that i believe you should always take a chance if you have it. even if there is little tiny chance of something good turning out from what you are thinking about doing you should do it. because the goal in life is to live your life with as little regrets as possible. and if you don't do what you are thinking about doing than the chances are you are going to regret not doing what you were thinking about doing. the second reason is also important. because if you don't do what you were hoping for at least you tried and there are other people who didn't even try so at least you had the guts to try it. the third reason is that you will live your life as regret free as possible because that is the goal.that's is what i think about the wayne gretzky quote you miss 100% of the shots you don't take.

    1. I agree with you because honestly if you try and take a chance you will succeed and something good might happen. If you don't try then your giving up on yourself and your dreams

    4. I agree with your response to the question. I think that you totally understand what the quote means. Also we kind of had the same idea on the quote. Also you put your take on the quote and show it what can happen in real life

  4. The quote “you will miss 100% of the shots you don’t make” by Wayne Gretzky can be very important in some cases. One case can be conquering a fear. The fear can be anything as small as arachnophobia to a big one as heights. You need to confront it by going on Kingda Ka or going camping. Their fear of spiders might come from a previous encounter that might have happened. Also the quote could mean you would try out for a sport or for your team you’re on. The coach would get made if the team wasn’t fighting or fooling around all the time. The tryout you would need to give 100% or you won’t have a shot. At practice you need to give more or you play the game or meet.
Today the freshman football team suffered their first loss of the season, 3-1, now. We lost not because we lost our starting quarterback in the first play. We lost because we didn’t give it 100%. The team we played was S.J.V. The team was good, yet we were better. The freshman coaches and the team did their best and we lost by one point. We were given chances to show 100% but we didn’t make any of the ones we took. We can only grow better from our one lost.

  5. The quote you will miss 100% or the shots you don't take by Wayne Gretzky means a lot to me. It is important to me because it is telling the truth in life. This quote is like saying if you don't take a chance you will only know the feeling of not doing anything. You won't know the feeling of success in what you had the chance of doing. What I think this means that you should always take a risk in life. In life you want to have the least regrets so you don't hate yourself when your older. Also there are people that maybe want to have the chance that you have in doing something. So next time you have a important decision in your life think that there is probably a person who would take the risk. Now how the quote relates to me is that I had the choice of being best friends with a person or not even knowing each other. In eighth grade or last year there was a person who had just moved to Bayville. He was the new kid and no one takes to him. So I was thinking of how lonely he was being. So I had the chance of being friends with him or just leave him alone. I choose of being friends with him because I didn't want him to be alone. Now today we are best friends. So I took the chance of being friends with him though I could just have left him alone. So you should always take the risk even if the odds are against you.

  6. “You will miss 100% of the shots you don't take” - Wayne Gretzky
what wayne Gretzky is saying is that you can not accomplish anything if you do not try and i do agree with this statement because if you don't put in any effort. for example when i get mad because maybe i'm not doing so good or as great as other people in my classes the only reason why i fail or don't do as well as others is simply because i don't try or i'm barely putting in an effort or not paying attention. When you don't try at something it's impossible to do good or accomplish anything if you don't think that you're good at something try and do better next time

  7. Wayne Gretzky once said, “You will miss 100% of the shots you don't take”. I agree with this statement. If you do not even try to succeed then you will automatically fail. For instance, when professional sports players are in the middle of a game, they don’t just say, “I am to tired to play today, I am going home.” If they did that, then they would get fired. If Alex Rodriguez just quit playing then the Yankees would have never been so successful. It is like the saying, quitters never win and winners never quit. If you were taking a math test or quiz and the teacher handed you the exam and you just handed it right back, then you will fail. But if you were taking the same math exam and you at least tried to get a one hundred then you at least have a chance of passing. It is like saying you have a child and telling them to go and fend for themselves. If you did that you would be charged with abandonment. One time, I went to my best friend’s house and we were doing homework. She said that she wanted to watch a movie instead and I said that that sounded like a lot of fun. The next day in school, we both got yelled at because we fell asleep during the movie and we forgot about the homework.
