  1. "Poetry is an art form in which human language is used for its aesthetic qualities in addition to, or instead of, its notional and semantic content. It consists largely of oral or literary works in which language is used in a manner that is felt by its user and audience to differ from ordinary prose."- poetry.org, and again poetry can be used in all types of different ways poetry is used in all different ways like poetry is used in writings, music, prayers, thoughts, dreams, etc. Poetry goes a ways back into the past! it is seen as an art or thoughts and really sometimes heals the human body. Poetry is a common way of expressing the inner feelings. Like in music all types of music give off different vibes and sounds. Like hip-pop gives off a rough and, and less smooth/ smooth vibe. and rock gives off a hard and more loud vibe. All different sounds and types of music changes the way people feel and react.

    2. I think that it was a great idea that you quote something from someone else. Also I agree that poetry can be used in many different ways than just music.

  2. I think that music is poetry. I think this because music can express emotion and show feelings. The lyrics can describe feelings that you have inside of you. The choice of words that were used in the song can show if you’re glad, excited, depressed, confused, in love. Like in songs, poems do the exact things that i listed. Except that songs are supposed to be listened and poems are read. Music show more emotion because of the singers voice. My favorite song is your guardian angel. this song means to me is that the song is about how the person in the song is lonely and how he likes this girl and how he would do everything for her and how he would always protect her even if it cost his life. It means to me that a boy has fallen in love for this girl though she has a boyfriend and she loves him. And the boy will always love her and will always be with her even though she doesn’t love him. i feel that most people would do that as well if they love someone so much. That is what my favorite song means to me.I think that songwriters are poets because of the emotion and feeling that they are putting into there work. All different types of music changes the way people feel . Like if rock it makes feel different than if listening to pop. The types of music is like the types of poetry. In a song or a poem you can be happy, sad , glad. So yes I think that music is poetry.

    1. I definitely agree with what you wrote. Poems and music are alike. They can show people's emotions by words, sound and lyrics. Every person will like different poems and music. It depends on the person.

  3. I believe that music is poetry. Artists write songs about their feelings, things they like or do, and things they don't like. Poems do the same thing. They can express emotions just like music does. It can make people feel emotions when they are reading a poem or listening to a certain piece of music. They can feel sad about a song or really happy when they read a certain poem. Poems or music can also bring up certain memories for a person. I believe poems and music do the same thing just in different ways. Sometimes music is written like a poem with it's lyrics.
One of my favorite song is " New Divide" by Linkin Park. I love the sound of the music and the way they sing it. I can feel myself nodding my head along with the beat. The song brings up memories of my Uncle Tyler and hanging out with him. This song is one of his favorites too. To me the song is like a poem. I think they are trying to say that you have to face your past mistakes. Once you realize what that are you can look towards a whole new world or as they sing "across the new divide."

  4. I think poetry is a form of music because it has stanzas and songs can rhyme. My favorite song is I Miss You by Miley Cyrus because she wrote for her grandpa that passed from cancer when she was young. I really like this song because when I was 12 my mom passed from cancer and I always sang this song to her when she was in the hospital. This song made my mom smile and happy every time she heard it or sang it. When I hear this song now it reminds me of my mom and just brings tears to my eyes because I miss her.

  5. I think that music is poetry. I think this because music can bring out the best of us like poetry. Like the stanzas there are lyrics. The lyrics means the mood the singer or poet is trying to express.Like poetry music messes with our emotions. They allow you to love, be excited, and be literate. Poems don't have beats to them ,they have a rhythm. Music has a beat that can change at anytime. Music has different tones that the singer can project. My favorite song is Irresistible. The song says that even if you have a tough challenge your still doing your best.I can say that by listening to the song and just by watching the music video. The song can have different meanings just like poetry. THe song has a meaning to me but a different one to you. The way you perceive the song allows you to say the meaning to yourself like reading a poem to yourself. THe type of music and poetry are different for each other. They may sound the same but they aren't.
