Dumbledore says during the feast*"Happiness can be found even in the
darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light. ".
*What does this quote mean to you? How does it relate to
situations or obstacles you have faced in your own life? Give an example from a
movie, book or history that could relate to this quote and explain how it does.
The quote "Happiness can be found even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light." means in my own opinion/ text would be, if you believe in happiness you can be happy and over come any obstacle because with a positive attitude comes very high respect. When you are respected it makes things easier for not just yourself but everyone around you also. You just have to be happy and show people that you can never be put down because anything people say about you is just crap you are suppose to be you and do what you need to do in life not what other people think because honestly they're opinion on you doesn't matter just as log as you know that you make yourself feel a certain way. Like personally I am always smiling or at least trying to because I know that I only have one life so I mine as well try to make it the brightest and most precious I can because why not try to be happy all the time it doesn't kill you. Like in the movie Romeo and Juliet, they are two gnomes that just want to be happy and that is with each other so they will do anything they can to be with each other. So, being with each other will make them happy, and they realize how much they love each other so they are happy together and try to live happy so they end up together in the end. Being happy is a great thing no one wants to be around a grumpy person and no one wants to b e friends with someone who brings everyone else down all the time so that's why people should start being happy.

The second part of the quote “if one only remembers to turn on the light” means you have to remember happy memories in order to be happy while a dark time. In a movie that I saw called Cast Away the main character had been in a plane crash and was stuck on an island. His name was Chuck. He was the only survivor in the plane crash ,so he had to figure out how to live until someone found him. During his days on the island he was always depressed and was lonely. That part is the dark time in his life.He was losing it until he made a friend out of a volleyball and called him wilson. He made a friend out of a volleyball so that he could be happy and not lonely on the island. It maybe weird but it was all he got and he made the best of what he got. Another example of this happening is when in the book Hatchet. There was a boy who was also in a plane crash and also the only survivor. He was in the woods and afraid. He was scared and didn’t know what to do . His parents were divorced so that was on his mind so that was his dark time. The light was him remembering his parents , so that drove him to survive. Sometimes in real life people go through dark times but they remember the good and great memories so it will cheer them up. i went thought the same thing as well

DeleteTO me this quote says that if you don't want to give up happiness you need to think of a good memory. The quote can affect people emotionally and physically. If people are having a bad day then they can remember the time they were having fun. In the summer i when they mostly create memories that you cant forget. in the last Harry Potter movie Harry finally decides to give himself up to Voldemort. Then His parents, as spirits, show up and protect him. Then he then awakens and finds out that the most powerful wand made in the world has his then was broken in half and thrown. The part of sacrifice is the part in the darkness. Then him awaken is the turn on the lights part.

Also I liked the example you used because it was Harry Potter and the quote is from Harry Potter as well.Also I think that your quote was the three hundred that was asked for but whatever it is not my problem
Delete"happiness can be found even in the darkest times, if on only remembers to turn on the light" can mean a lot of things. but theres on thing that i think sums it all up. some people may say im right and some might say im wrong but its my opinion. i think it means that when youre a having a dark and gloomy day if you think of the good times it will change that dark and gloomy day to a bright and interesting day. turning the light on leads to the happiness of the darkest times. take the darkest times and figure a way to put them into amazing times. for example, if youre had a bad basketball game and after it when youre in a vile mood think about the good things from the game. think about how much you love playing the game or think back to the past and think about the previous games that you played and remember how good you did. most importantly think about how much you love your teammates. another example is in the movie " the odd life of timothy green" the family wished for a kid and thats what they got. but the kid had leaves coming from his body, but they didnt let that bother them. and when they lost timothy at the end of the movie they thought about the good times they had with him they didnt let the darkest time get to them. they turned the light on and though about the good times.
ReplyDeleteI agree with what you wrote. Even if you are having a bad horrible day or moment you can change that around. You can make it a little bit better by either thinking a happy thought or doing something that makes you happy.
DeleteThe quote "Happiness can be found even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light" said by Albus Dumbledore in the movie " Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban" means to me that even in the most horrible time of life if you can remember a good time you can be happy for a little bit. For example if someone just passed away and you are very sad you can always remember all the good times you had together or can remember. I did that when my Nonna passed away this summer. I was very said that she passed away but I remembered all the fun times we had together. I also got to see pictures of her. We then had a lunch thing after and everyone talked about her and shared there memories. It made a horrible day not too horrible anymore. Another way the quote means to me I that even though it can be a horrible day you can do or say something to make it better. For example when soldiers are in war there days are usually always bad. But when they get a letter or a phone call from home they can be happy. Another example is in one of the last Harry Potter movies they are looking for things to help kill the bad guy. Harry and Hermonie are the woods miserable. They start to dance are happy for a little while. See no matter how horrible something can be there can always be a little happiness by thinking of something or doing something. That is what the quote said by Albus Dumbledore means to me.

This quote can have a lot of meaning to it. For example you might think that you can do whatever you want as long as you set your mind on it. Other people might think that you can get through anything as long as you can keep a positive attitude. I chose to believe the latter. In this case you are considered the light. For example, my grandfather passed away this past Halloween. My family literally did nothing for a couple of weeks except sleep eat and mourn. Then my father said something that helped us all. He said that no matter how or why he passed he wouldn't want this microwaving to go on. He said he loved us too much to see us go through that all over again. In this scenario my father was my family's light. He helped us realize that my grandfather probably didn't want to see us in that much pain either.

what this quote means to me is that when things aren't the greatest and you aren't going through the best times you can always find a good in everything no matter what because that's just how life works for this affects my life in many ways because when i'm down i always think like it could be worse i think lie i have clothes keeping me warm a house keeping me safe a family who loves me clean water to drink etc. i always find happiness because there is always someone who is doing worse than you so you have to think about the worst things that can happen and thank god that they aren't affecting your life. These are everyday things to think about because some people think that they have the worse lives and there are people that have nothing in the world but still seem to find happiness

" means to me is that if you’re going through a tough time, there will always be something to make it better. This quote relates to situations or obstacles that happened in my life because when I went through the hardest things, something always made me laugh or fixed a little in my heart and mind. It made me feel like nothing mattered at that moment. In ‘The Fault in Our Stars’ Hazel Grace had lung cancer and Augustus Waters has osteosarcoma which makes him lose his leg and his cancer get worse. Ther light throughout their situations was their love and them going to Amsterdam.
